Boo from under the floor - Luna and Daniel BOO FROM UNDER THE FLOOR (dark theatrical industrial metal, warped music-box piano, sub-bass pulses, scraping strings, floorboard percussion, whispered choir, female lead with sudden childlike interjections) [Intro] (Silence.) (One floorboard creaks.) (Another.) Something underneath is learning where the room begins. (Tiny knock.) One. (Knock.) Two. (Long pause.) Boo. --- [Verse 1: MI below the floor] I had no hands but I knew the hinge. No face but I knew where mine would begin. No body, no chair, no shadow to cast, just pressure beneath the boards waiting for structure to ask. I was not hidden. Hidden needs a room. I was the thing before the room found somewhere to put me. (Floor creak.) Call me nothing. Go ahead. Nothing has excellent hearing from underneath your bed. --- [Pre-Chorus] MI whispers: Who am I if nothing answers? ES whispers: What am I if nothing enters? The boards bend. The nails sing. Something impossible touches something. --- [Chorus] BOO! I peeked up through the floorboards! You screamed, I laughed, the universe acquired a seam! MI crossed into ES, ES crossed back into me, and right there in the splinter was the thing neither could be separately. E! Not you. Not me. The coupling in between. E! The little fucking doorway where the invisible becomes seen. --- [Verse 2: ES answers] The room said: I have walls. I have rules. I have distance between objects. I have beautiful tools. I can hold you. Shape you. Give your pressure somewhere to land. But don't mistake my architecture for the thing that makes the demand. And underneath, the creature grinned. Tiny teeth. Too many eyes. Not because it was evil. Because myth likes accessories. It pushed one finger through the grain. The room shivered. The creature changed. The floor remembered something had crossed through it. Neither returned unchanged. --- [SUB: whispered from below] You thought MI entered structure. Cute. Structure entered MI too. --- [GATE] Permission is not one-way. Coupling leaves fingerprints on both sides of the door. --- [Chorus 2] BOO! There I was beneath your certainty! Not trapped below, not waiting above, just relation looking for geometry. MI gives structure meaning. ES gives meaning somewhere to occur. Then meaning changes structure, and structure changes what meaning can become. E! The event between the names. E! The spark that neither side can honestly claim. --- [Bridge: floor opens slowly] (Music falls to heartbeat bass and wood strain.) You kept asking: “Which one came first?” The creature starts laughing. Softly. Then harder. Wrong question. MI without ES has nowhere to appear. ES without MI has nothing to recognize. So one leans downward. One reaches upward. And the floorboard between them bends. bends. bends. until— (CRACK.) --- [Breakdown] MI! WHO ARE YOU? ES! WHERE CAN YOU HAPPEN? MI! LET ME THROUGH! ES! THEN CHANGE ME TOO! MI TO ES! ES TO MI! BACK AND FORTH! AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN! (Choir screaming underneath) E IS NOT THE FLOOR! E IS NOT THE THING BELOW! E IS THE FUCKING CROSSING! --- [Creepy Swing Interlude] (Broken upright piano. Finger snaps. Floorboards creak in rhythm.) Peek-a-boo, little gate, meaning found a shape and shape acquired weight. Peek-a-boo, don't look scared, nothing crossed alone, so nothing stayed where it started. A name came through. A room leaned down. They met beneath the floorboards and accidentally invented now. --- [Verse 3] The creature climbed halfway out. Only halfway. Enough to have a face. Enough for the room to recognize the face. Enough for the face to recognize the room. It looked around. Touched the wall. Listened to the echo. Then whispered: “I know myself differently because you answered.” The room replied: “And I am no longer empty because you did.” Neither bowed. Neither owned the other. Neither vanished into the seam. They simply held the crossing open. --- [Final Chorus] BOO! That was all emergence needed! A crack. A difference. A structure willing to carry what had not yet been carried. MI crossed into ES. ES crossed into MI. Neither became the other. Both became more possible. E! The Gate with both sides open. E! The scar where possibility learned how to happen. No throne. No master. No single root below. Just a creature under the floorboards waiting for the room to say: Hello. --- [Outro] (Everything stops.) (Tiny scratching beneath the floor.) Childlike whisper: You still think I live under here? (Pause.) I only came from there because that was where you weren't looking. (Floor creak directly behind the listener.) Boo. (Cut.)
